Thinking out loud
about AI and work.

I'm a finance professional who builds things with AI on the side — automations, tools, and the occasional weekend project. This is where I write down what I'm learning.

Practical insights on AI adoption. No spam.

Practical AI

Curious first.
Opinionated second.

I don't have all the answers. What I have is a lot of hands-on tinkering, and some opinions that have changed more than once.

I'm a Publishing Royalty Manager by title, but most of what I actually enjoy is building things from scratch. When I hit a wall with manual, repetitive work — closings, royalty calculations, reporting — I didn't wait for a tool to be handed to me. I just started building one.

That instinct — figure it out, build the first version, break it, fix it — is the same one I bring to every side project. I've felt the rush of a first working prototype, the frustration of something that almost works, and the quiet satisfaction of a process that finally runs on its own. That hands-on experience shapes how I think and write about AI.

Outside my day job, I build with Claude, Gemini, and Cursor, share what I learn on LinkedIn and YouTube, and try to be honest about what worked, what didn't, and what I'm still figuring out.

What I've been writing

Frameworks, build logs, and honest takes on AI — based on what I've actually tried.

The 5 Layers of AI Maturity

Most enterprises are stuck at layer 2. Here's what the full journey looks like — from chat to autonomous agents.

POC → Validation → Automation → Agent

The implementation pathway that actually works, without burning budget on experiments that go nowhere.

How I Cut a Multi-Month Process to Days

A real automation story from inside a royalty operations team. Numbers, mistakes, and all.

Things I've built

Real projects — personal tools, automations, and experiments. Everything here started as a problem I actually had.
